Two years ago, the Chicago Swordplay Guild put on an event celebrating the anniversary of Fiore die Liberi’s works called “the 600” for the number of years it had been since the maestro wrote. It was held at the DeKoven Center in Racine Wisconsin, the same place as the bi-annual Western Martial Arts Workshop. Unlike the Workshop, the event was devoted to the study of Fiore’s armizare.

Now they are doing it again September 14-16, with a name change to “Armizare Academy” because “602” just doesn’t have that ring.

The instructors this year are all North American, and there’s going to be a lot of really good classes. I will also be there to lecture, instruct and fence in the CFAA armored deed of arms. ┬áCheck out the link at http://www.chicagoswordplayguild.com/c/events for more details.

It’s not quite too late to join the fun!
